My name is Jenny and I am the weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) piercer at Exposed. I am in my early twenties (not an old fart, like some of my coworkers… ::Cough, Cough:: You know who you are!), so I don’t have much to write about in a biography… but I’ll try not to bore you!

My junior year in high school, I started taking an athletic training course, in place of health and PE, and fell in love. The human body fascinated me. I sopped up as much information as I possibly could, as fast as I could. Bone structure, muscle groupings, tendons, ligaments, fleshy tissues… It all had a purpose and it could all be manipulated. I continued my study in my senior year, but not into college. I regret that decision, but it’s never too late to go back to school! Point is, this class had a major impact on my life. I had been poking holes in friends, and myself, for as long as I can remember… at least since middle school, but now I knew just what I was puncturing and what effect it could have on the rest of the body.
I never planned on becoming a piercer; in fact, I never viewed it as a ligitimate profession until I came to Exposed. Not long after high school, Greg hired me as a shop girl and, once again, found myself in love. This industry was so much different than anything else I had ever expreienced, and I was infatuated. A little over a year later, I started my apprenticeship with Deus and, as they say, the rest is history!

My life now consists mainly of work, spending time with my family, relaxing with my fiance, and planning for the arrival of our first child. My brother, Dave, races the number 34 Ty, Daniels’ Auto Care, Amsoil, Trakside Legends cars at Old Dominion and Shenandoah Speedways (shameless plug, I know, but I’m okay with it!). I try to help out with the race team, and watch him run, as often as I can. We grew up in a racing family, and it is another passion of mine. Other than that, I either vegetate in front of the TV watching documentaries, old sitcoms, or that one glorious day during the fall/winter I get the privelege of viewing “Heroes,” or I read. I am a huge geek! I’ll read pretty much anything you put in front of me. As much as I enjoy my time off, every week, by my third day off, I am anxious to get back to work. It never fails.

I can honestly say, “I love coming to work!” How many people can say that? I love my job, I love my clients (well, most of them anyway!), and I love my coworkers. We are all a big family here. I have, what I believe to be, one of the most fun and gratifying jobs on the planet. I get to help people do something that makes them feel more attractive. I get to help people release pain, and anger, and frustration. I get to help people feel more unique, or like they fit in. Do you see a pattern here? I GET TO HELP PEOPLE! I get to do something for someone that they want so bad, but are so scared of doing. When all is said and done, the jewelry is in place and everything is cleaned up, and the client gets to see it… the look on their face is amazing! They get so happy and so excited! That’s the best feeling for me… knowing that I just made someone’s day.
